.info's are fine, the only disadvantage seems to be that google is less forgiving when it comes to blackhat techniques on .info domains, they seem to get banned faster...not really a surprise, since they are the #1 choice of spammers, blackhats & co. because they are so cheap.

Grab it for sure. With the sale of Travel.info for $116K, what's there to think about? :D

I don't think their's any problem with .info domains, at least never heard of any. If you have a good deal go for it.....

I have a .info that got PR3 in a single PR update. Even with many outgoing links to directories. So .info is fine.

I would go for .com if it is available for your name. .info not that appealing, imo.

.info domains are always the first choice for spammers, because they're cheap.
I receive lot's of spam from .info domains.

I actually believe that google gives less importance to .info domains.
Have you ever saw one in a top 10 for a common search?

That is because .info are newer. I have .infos and .coms with the same names and they behave similarly in google rankings.

yes I did. I have a .info domain and when I bought it, I was thinking that .info domains are for informative websites like tutorials, articles, news and so on.

If I don't have anything commercial on a website why to bother to buy a .com domain?

Maybe G have some also to check a .info domain, but if you have a few quality bl's and good content everything is ok.

I have 2 .info domains and they are blazing the SERPs for their words.

Indeed - I have been thinking that G just favors them. They also received quite high PR with first update.

Only problem -few egoistic webmasters think .info domains are cheap.

Please observe the following example and tell everyone that .info can still rank number 1

PS: This is probably my 1999th times mentioning this

in the eye of google , there is no difference between domains extensions.

it has the same importance with a com domain

.info's are fine. However, some people tend to ignore a .info on the search result as they are used to a .com site.

.info domains are treated the same by Google, psychologically though, I think the users prefer the .com domain.

That's about it. Most people see .com as the good domains and the rest as trash.
