Wow. Am I being click bombed or does Adsense sometimes go haywire?

Normally by this time of the day I maybe have 2 or 3 clicks.
Having a look at my Firefox adsense plugin I'm currently showing..
    40 impressions
    137 clicks!!
I know my new content rich site is good, but this crazy and it hasn't even been submitted for inclusion in any directories or search engines! and why am I only getting $3.45 for 137 clicks as well?
I think I better contact google eh?

Have you varyfied varified variafied (GOD DAMN I Can't spell) validated those figures by logging into your adsense account. The FF plugin sometimes makes things up to get at you because your feet smell. Or because you didn't let the dog out this morning and it doesn't like clearing up the mess.

    Yes, it's suspicious.
It's not unknown for adsense stats to lag behind reality though. So first you need to check the actual stats for your sites in question. Are you seeing an increased number of visitors ?
If not, then send an email to G informing them of suspicious click.

Are the impressions consistent with what you normally get?

I have verified the figures in my adsense account. Now showing 228 clicks, same 40 impressions and the money has gone down to $2.97.
My midday web server stats have come through and they look like any normal day, perhaps 10 or so extra uniques which is good, but it doesn't explain the bizarre jump in clicks as well as the plummeting earnings.
Google has been informed. I'm worried.

    Don't worry.
If you are seeing a decrease in earnings, it means google has already noticed it and accounted for it.

and since you have also informed google, I guess you should be safe. Only you would not be getting money for those invalid clicks

If the impressions are the same, that probably means your stats are delayed. You shouldn't worry too much if you haven't done anything against the TOS.

I banned the &*^% from accessing my server and the extra clicks have stopped. The IP has been reported to the ISP involved and I asked them to take the zombie offline and inform the user to secure his box.
No answer from google as yet. I'll keep you guys informed :)

Once you're attacked, you're pretty much stuck. How are you going to ban his many other IPs? And what is Google doing not discarding the invalid clicks?

I got the exact same thing a few hours ago! Eight impressions and 194 clicks, when I reported it. Yah, I E-mailed Google!

    Now it's 12 impressions and 392 clicks.

    This post might explain it.....
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=387579&postcount=84

Of all of my channels, it's on one of the two that are in sites in my signiture.

LOL!!!!! This is exactly why people should not reveal their sites, ESPECIALLY in a forum.

I think I annoyed someone in one of the Usenet groups I haunt. He decided to be a click terrorist or something.
I think I stopped him in his tracks for now. Probably a clueless skript kiddy. Only one click and 11c since the last report :)

You mean a separate Adsense account? I'm having enough trouble earning enough to hit the magic $100 barrier on one account let alone having to share the clicks between two accounts lol :p
