Godaddy or Siteground for hosting?

I'm planning to run a huge DB of sorts for a new wicked idea of a website.
It'll contain forums and lots of content!

I have read phpbb runs well with godaddy economy hosting plan, but some has said economy linux on godaddy has serious crippled php.
So I've read n read and was told to get deluxe to run a good forum like vb.

So then i found sitegrounds very affordable pricing and a free domain which comes with vb which is far more superior to phpbb.

So sitegrounds legit or a scam?

Don't think any of those two have a good rep on this site. I think alot of posters here use hostgator (myself included), I have not seen many bad reviews of them.

Trust me, if you are planning to do anything serious, go with HostGator shared plans to start with.

You can find real webmaster HostGator Reviews if you're interested.

Thay have a very good reputation and service in the hosting industry.

I am also a hostgator user ( after dreamhost suspended my account for no reason). I have no complaint too.

Don't go with Siteground as they were absolutely terrible for me. I had a $89 a month VPS and it kept going down with only a light traffic vb site.

I would suggest you to go with HostGator.

By the way I was surprised from the great support GoDaddy has.
I had a small problem and they really resolved it in no time.

GoDaddy is good for domain. I know Siteground because I used to work with them and Ican say most of their customers are OK with them. So the company is good. Another smaller but very good web host is hostcolor.com. I've very positive experience with them and they currently host my blog.

To be honest I can say there are many other good web hosts. My only advice is not to go with a company that oversells... even it is a good one.

You and me both. It's been an absolute nightmare for me. I'm trying to move out of SG as we speak.
