I have an AMD Athlonâ„¢ 64 Processor 4000+ and 2GB of Ram Corsair and i preffer to give power to photoshop instead of Vista(the code of the sistem is not optimized, it is a OS not a game to use so many resources)
It's a tough call but considering the service life of each release, eventually everyone has to get Vista. All the new OS "enhancements" will be added to Vista so if you want to move forward, you've got to move up. Remember 3.1?
microsoft start working on Windows 7, maybe will be much better then Vista and we will jump directly to Windows 7
No we don't. ReactOS looks like a nice project for the future; by the time XP comes out of support it should be ready for live use.
XP is better so far because Vista has many issues with other peripherals and security issues. Nobody I know (I hang with computer geeks) likes Vista. Maybe in a few years Vista will be ok but not right now.
I've fixed a couple of vista powered notebooks, and most of the users complaints is about speed. Its just too resource hog. I've even suggested to disable the theme to increase the notebook performance to 5% atleast.
I just got my vista on my laptop and I have to say I am loving it....It is faster than Xp....I can play call of duty 2 , surf the net and download big torrent file at the same time with ease....Those of you who are complaining slow speed is either because you have low memory or you bought it from a store where they just upgraded it from xp.....
My 10 reasons for not using vista: 1. Vista is over-priced. 2. Vista is not compatible with 90% of the hardware that can be purchased with a normal person's wage ( the parts you need are very expensive ) 3. Vista is less compatible with programs and games than XP. 4. Vista has more problems than XP. 5. Vista takes up more space than XP. 6. Vista requires much more than XP. 7. On most systems, unless you pay bundles of money, Vista is slower than XP. 8. Vista cannot be dual-booted. ( So far that I know of, I usually had problems with trying to dual-boot with another OS ) 9. I hate microsoft 10. Microsoft didn't originally make Vista. They stole most of it from a man developing it off of a linux-based OS.
Hi rlineker. Recently some articles about Vista security have been written and seems Vista is less secure than XP. Anyway i think Vista is a OS i would like to test. but for now i can't because i have a slow pc. i have to buy a new PC to install vista...so i have to wait a little bit before say the real difference between XP or Vista and then i'll vote bye
Not a fan of Vista myself. I had to "downgrade" to XP when the new laptop I got came with Vista pre-installed. It was pretty, but performance was slow.
I have Vista Ultimate and it runs perfectly on my PC. People who moan about Vista performance simply don't have a PC powerful enough to cope with it. Eventually every PC will have Vista just have every PC has XP now. I remember this exact same attitude going on when XP came out. "Moan moan I hate how it looks, moan moan nothing works" That's the deal with new OS' get used to it they will keep coming out. As someone else mentioned within 2 years it will be the norm. [edit] Who the hell told you Vista has no dual boot? They were lying I use it on my Vista machine every day.
I have also had to downgrade to xp on one new laptop. I don't understand why they install vista on new laptops that do not have enough power to run it. I'll install it in my pc after they release all the patches and service packs jaja maybe in a year
microsoft intergrate more and more crap in their new OS~ Going to stay with Xp for now, even if my comp can handle vista.
