Well i am getting some designs done and would like to use some cool pictures in them.

    Getting some templates made.

Could you guys suggest a source where i could buy royalty free images for use in my designs ?

I have a budget of max 5$ per image.

Well, I never use an image in my work, unless the person requesting it provides the image, so I'm not liable. If I'm going to use an image, I just do it for display, and never sell the item, and usually steganograph a reference.

But if you want to buy pictures, go here:
    stockphoto.com/
    shutterstock.com/
    GettyImages.com/
    fotosearch.com/

I use istockphoto.com - most of the images there are well within your $5 per image budget :).

Be careful with the templates, on most of the sites you will have to buy an extended licence to use the images in a template.

iStock is owned by Getty, interestingly. There's everything in terms of quality from something you might find stuck under your shoe to images that rival Corbis. Unfortunately, finding the right one can be time consuming.

Now that digital cameras are everywhere, though, it's really not that hard to just go out and shoot your own images.
