You made a good decision pipes but I'm bias, nobody wants anyone to get hacked, the b****** who do it need to be frickin sent to jail. This highlights the problem with some of the free opensource scripts, the hard fact is most of them can't afford to provide support as it is needed and as daboss said its a hobby not a business. Lesson is if anyone wants to be serious in running a directory you shouldn't use a hobby script for obvious reasons. @daboss, really bad you got shit on like that but glad you've what you think is the cause. Good luck, doesn't matter what script you support we all feel the pain when someone gets hacked.
Why are you lynx supporters so vocal? I agree it is a good script. One I will never use because the people who push it feel the need to slam other products. There is no need for that. If it really is better, it will win. I am far more happy with the "hobby script" than one I bought. And I don't feel the need to slam that one or the lynx script. All three are good products.
Acctually i have to agree with Colbyt, i like indexscript alot more than most othe r scripts just because the fact the guy who made it doesn't do it for the money.
well, i guess what's happened has happened... sorry for that. but if anyone wants to change scripts, please do so... i honestly wish you all the best... but i'll continue to chug along with my little script.
for a free script from a one-man-band its fantastic. thanks for the fix daboss, many people appreciate your efforts
Some people don't really understand the equation. A one man show for a FREE Script is an AWESOME achievement. Good Work Daboss and more power to you.
Um Hello where did any 'Lynx' supporters slam products? I think for a free script made by one guy its great FACT, never said anything whatsoever to SLAM. Get your facts right please.
small suggestion to all, if i may, .... this is the kind of setting i have on my sites, search google for any php script/ backup tool to backup the db . run a cron job every second hour to write to a file like '/sql/db_back_ddmmyy.sql' and also a statement in the file: filename = '/sql/db_back_'.Date("dmy", mktime(0,0,0,date("m"), date("d")-10, date("Y"))).'.sql'; if(file_exists($filename)) @unlink($filename); exit(); Code (markup): 1. creating a backup every 2 hours, overwriting the old one. 2. leaving yesterdays last backup as is. 3. deleting all .sql files more than 10 days old, so even if you are on a vacation!, when u come back u still have atleast a database of 10 day old, which can be used as a backup! just my 2c M.
should have found this earlier. Unfortunately, i have delete the whole site. Think will be using phpld later for the site back. scary :S Hey daboss, thanks for the freescript. It's been great mate!
