How many people use Google to search for porn?

I'm unsure about this; but I'm sure there are some specialized porn search engines; I don't know what the porn lover will do: still use google which isn't specialized in it, or use that specialized search engine?

I'm quite sure google won't cut down on the porn industry, but I'm also very sure it will not develop special tools for it, lol.

 

they have the filters in place already...look at your search preferences if you have a google account.....

 

They filter adult images from image search im sure they could filter adult sites if they wanted. Why would they do it a long time ago though when they can sell ads on the results and make huge revenue?

 

They do need to have more filters to prevent the searching of something generic and be unexpectly stumbling into porn when you were not even looking for it.

With all their technology, they could do it if they wanted to.

 

It's a huge business, just have a look at the non-sanitized top searches lists. Since google delivers the most and up-to-date results, it's used for searching for porn as for any other search terms.

They simply can't afford to remove adult sites from the index, people would switch to a competitor and may use this competitor as well when they search for other things.

The real problem are the low barriers to enter the adult industry. Hosting is cheap, affiliate programs give out content and premade promo tools in abundance, so there is a huge flood of new adult webmaster trying to make a buck. The initial investment needed is close to zero.

Since competition grows, marketing becomes more and more agressive. Some years ago discussions were about the ethical aspects of having a warning page or not, today some affiliate programs even pay people installing spyware/malware (loads of .edu spam is malware). It's a shame, but the industry seems to be unable to self-regulate itself.

 

I bet it would make a difference if all the major search engines take a strong position against this. It scares the hell out of me how a child can see porn in less than a few clicks. That tells a lot about our society. A sexually satisfied human would not search porn on the net IMO.

 

Login to your google account if you have one and click preferences. This gives you the option to turn on a filter of your choice. I'm sure it probably doesn't block everything.

 

Google is the worlds biggest search engine and in theory should have the most searches for porn.

In China, I think Baidu would be the biggest

 

porn is here for good. I dont think google will ignore them. Its a part of the everyday life so you gotta live with it.

You should be more scared about parents letting their kids make them few clicks looking for porn, or how these kids even know what porn is.

 

Porn is dirty and repugnant. One should stay as far away from porn as one can.

 

There are a lot people out there use google search for porn,no doubt.

 

And why should G cut down on that. Why to give up on $$$$$$$ ? They haven't develop any tools, but they've already included it in sponsored listing!
