Ah man, not looking fwd. to my appointment tomorrow with the per·i·o·don·tist [per-ee-uh-don-tist]. I have a few teeth where my gums have flat out bailed (receded) to the point where I'm almost certain he will recommend a gum graft...ouch! Basically they take some skin from the roof of your mouth and graft it over the tooth (teeth) where the gum line has receded I don't suppose anyone has had this done before?? what these particular x-rays have to do with my evaluation tomorrow I do not know. anyway, I'll go first
ehhh best of luck to you man. Not sure if thats worse than a root canal or not. seems like those may be cavity's though , not to serious, but now again, I'm no dentist haha. GOOD LUCK!
those are fillings you see, all my teeth are good to go now after my most recent trip to the dentist...it was a 2 tripper though! had to get a crown. my mom actually had it done and from what I can remember it wasn't a pleasant experience but we'll see! thanks pretty much except mine are backside, molars...be tough for me to get a shot off back there! They start measuring them @ 4mm recession and I think my worst was like 17mm!
see, that's what I've been telling everyone all along....I'm big boned!! to answer your question(s), perhaps(what you see might not make sense if you don't realize what you're looking at) and I'm sure
All I can say is ....ewwww..... Especially to the Nintendo pics (but I expect no less from him!) Tim, you have heard of this new invention that they call a toothbrush, right?
to the dentist you mean? I'd welcome that over what I face with my gums! very funny Focker. actually using med or hard TB and or improper brushing can contribute to the gums receding. in my case it might be brushing, braces, narrow jaw, and maybe genetics somewhat.
It's a bit impossible to have 17mm gum recession with that ammount of bone... Your bone is exposed then? :/
I've got 3 teeth that are SOL (as far as the gums are concerned). guess how much it is per tooth.... anyway our cheap *** insurance only covers $X per year so I'm going to have to wait until Jan to go under the knife. He's going to make quick work out of it though! 20mins per tooth!
no takers on the gue$$ huh? The damage is $1K+ a tooth! The really bad thing is that we've already used up all our insurance for this year Tomorrow is the big day, 1pm and I go UTK - under the knife. I'll be one sore pup at least this weekend and maybe as long as 1-2 weeks. So if I start posting this weekend and I'm a little loopy (more so than usual), it's the drugs!
After it's done, start giving us a pain report for a week or two!!! Some day I'll probably get it done on dis tooth. Where I'm at, I think they said something like $600 or $700, before insurance, which doesn't cover everything. That's why I've procrastinated da day of 'mouth surgery'!!!!! And I'm guessing you're awake while they do it!!!!
