$500 for text link worth it?

Hi,

Just wondering what would be worth a $500 text link for a year?

1 website said I get 1 text link (with a description I think) for 1 year for $500

What would you check to see if it would be worth that for you? And what must they have for you to do this?

I would start with the traffic on their site, is it going to send actual visitors to your site?

What is the PR of the site you can get the link on? Do they link to spammy sites, or only relevant ones?

 

PR6 text link are supposed to be $40 pm which near $500 pa

Link well postioned

Related websites where visititors convert

Exposure in you market

PR back to your website

If you can get all these from this site - it is worth it

Where will they place the link? Will it be somewhere near the top of the page or down in the footer somewhere? You should check this as well as some other factors like PR, No of links on that page, theme of site/page, traffic to that site etc if you go for that link.

 

Which niche are you talking about ? Is the site well established? What are the other major sites in that particular niche ? Where will your link be placed ?

You need to get the answers to quite a few questions before deciding whether or not to spend five hundred quid on it

 

Only if it makes up for revenue and growth.

 

The profitability of your own site is another important consideration. Is your site worth spending that much money on?

The site is a PR7. My link will be on a PR7 page. (most of their internal pages are PR6-7)

The website is a learning center.

The backlink tool i use says only 110 backlinks from yahoo???

I can't determine age of domain. They use their name.netfirms.com

They CLAIM 10,000 visitors a day.

Any tools you recommend for me to "check" things.

i think when u are buying a link then you have the right to see the proof of what they are claiming.

just ask them to show u a screenshot of the traffic etc

For the proof of PR, just access the site with Goog bar installed

And, $500.. hmm.. that is some investment.. Make sure you are not getting a better deal elsewhere before investing it with them!

When my site is developed I want to sell adspace and want to make £300 per month from the site selling 4 spaces so about £75 a month for a site wide ad. The site will have about 100 pages. I have 3 link from some PR 7 sites and each cost me around 500 USD/Year which doesn't give me any direct visitor as it is not related with my site. But what I got is massive improvement of my search engine position so i'm getting huge visitor from google and yahoo.

Before you buy PR 7 link just check the sites backlink with yahoo explorer. Each of my PR 7 site has more than 200,000-500,000 yahoo backlink. Also it is imporatant the placement of link (home page is always better).

 

I'm not sure if you will be able to buy a PR9 link for $500 / year

 

i think you must also check

* visitors of the site
* pr of the site
* outgoing link number which your link will stay
* place of the link that you buy (i dont prefer footer links)

before you buy the link

 

500 is some good money do your research and shop around alot. theres lots of places to put your links on for that kind of money. it really depends on you niche.
