A little trick that has made me some extra bucks

Just thought I'll share this for the hell of it.
I've done this a couple of times and it has worked quite well. I take advantage of the free linkback that youtube gives you if you embed one of the videos onto your site and put some ads below or above it and what I do is embed videos mainly aimed at children such as disney channel clips and what not. It works since the kids don't seem to know what ads are.
    Has anyone else done this?

That's probably dangerous cause kids may click several times, and you can put your account at risk due to invalide clicks..

    I agree with Jarodboy..
It's dangerous if the clip is licensed.

What do you mean exactly? Even if you just embed videos targeting children, how do you get the traffic?

I get traffic when people click "link" or "honors" under the video to see what sites linked to it.

I'd echo Jarodboy's comment about the danger of using YouTube videos on an Adsense website. Bear in mind that the Programme Policies specifically prohibit using "content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content."

Of course, the ultimate irony is that Google now owns YouTube but I don't think that necessarily means you're absolved of the requirements of the PP. YouTube in general is a bit of a legal minefield and I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I've been doing this for at least a month if not 2 ,so far so good. I'd just thought I'd share this for no apparent reason. I've made at least an extra $15+ which isn't a lot to many of you but still, it's extra cash :p.

guys.. the op is very generous to come here and share his trick with you, and nobody even said thanks...

instead of thinking of the negative side (copyright, against tos, duplicate clicks) why not just try to use your brain, be inspired and figure out how to use this trick to get legit traffic and legit clicks? personally i can see the potential of this idea.

    thanks for sharing, repped.

Google has got Adsense ads on Youtube now. lol

It's probably against their TOS for publishers, but them doing it their selfs is not giving out a good impression.

Also, because of kids clicking on the ads, it will also look bad as kids don't really purchase much do they and it's likely to translate to a very poor conversion unless you also get a good amount of adult clicks.

Thanks, I'd thought that this would at least help some people that are active in the adsense forum, according to this thread and poll 192 users make under $1 a day with adsense

Its really risky to put copyrighted content. If you record a Disney Channel clip and put it on your site, you may be violation Adsense TOS.
    Nice idea btw.

I don't do the recording, I find videos on youtube that seem to be popular with kids but not that popular overall so it doesn't ever hit the front page. I have a pretty good idea of what videos since I'll always be a kid at heart ;)

This idea can work with just any kids site. Not just video sites for kids.
