Revenue Sharing A Thing Of The Past?

I heard from a friend who used to work at google and has some friends there that he said they are going to be getting rid of people sharing revenue through boards such as this by changing the TOS. I don't know if it is true has anyone heard this? If it is true I think we can chalk that up to a lot of amatuers trying to do what great sites like this have but trying to cheat the system or doing it by mistake with bad coding.

I think revenue sharing will remain. There is no need for them to change it.

revenue sharing is a scam that only serves the
site owner and Google. example: how many DP members
click on the ads just on the slight chance that their code
is the one being displayed at that moment. the thing is
DPs code shows up 80-90% of the time..LOL

Google have been encouraging revenue sharing with the adsense API - so why would it be a thing of the past?

It is much more likely that google would look to formalise a TOS for revenue sharing... perhaps making it ONLY possible through their adsense API (and anyone else who wants to revenue share outside the adsense API needs to be approved on a per case basis).

Sites like http://forums.livingwithstyle.com (which has an awesome revenue sharing wiki I'm averaging $5.00 a day on) don't allow you to see your own ads so you can't click on them.

I have not made a penny off DP but I know it has showed up as a small amount of impressions so I do not believe it is cheating us at all but I did some research to try to find more info on what google is saying about revenue sharing and of course i did not find anything

Right, it doesn't pay a lot, but many DP users give their profits to charity, using the charity's adsense ID for the revenue share. I'm sure that it helps someone by donating the few cents we do make from it. All of the users times a few cents every week really adds up in the long run.

Charity adsense link? Where do you find that? I'll give mine to charity! I have no need for $0.04 a week ;)

    Exactly this makes more sense.

Google would prolly allow revenue sharing only through Adsense API or plugins using Adsense API to ensure that sharing is implemented properly. currently owners can change the sharing percent at any time, in future google might need declaration of what they are going to share with their users. just my 2cents.

for god sake, dont involve shawn in this. where did u get those 80% figures from?

Did you start this thread to boost your own revenue sharing??? Hehe, just kidding :)

I think that would be a blunder on google's part. Revenue sharing is such a great idea, I find it hard to believe google would want to kill it.

Shawn Hogan is STACKED with money.

In fact he has enough to pay 100,000 in legal fees over a 1,000 fine.

He's invested a ton of time in projects that we enjoy for free and that he doesn't make revenue off for instance the coop network.

He doesn't need to cheat us out of adsense nickles and dimes.
