Most probably they wont be able to save the bull..

I am not arguing over whether it should be saved or not. I am arguing over OP's ridiculous claim of finding the whole matter laughable. Religious or not, only a sick mind would find this matter laughable.

Well, I'm all for the wholesale slaughter of infected humans. Equal treatment of mammals and all.

Air tight? I think you mean animal proof. Seems fair enough to me, especially since it's something that can be treated with drugs.

Humans being treated for TB are kept in isolation for two weeks while being treated before being returned to the ward. I'm pretty sure that the same arrangement would be practical for the bull, especially since the legal wranglings have gone on for far longer than that.

we have different drugs for humans than are used for cows, the problem is that there is no treatment for cows that is acceptable to the UK. we are given a BCG while in school, this is a small dose of the M. Bovine strain to protect us. cows do not have anything like a BCG shot they can get.
the bull gets it in the neck like any other.
by the way, it looks like that bull has already infected more cows from it's herd, so they might all get it, whether or not they are all infected now.

The same drugs that are used to treat humans are used in larger quantities to treat bovine forms of the disease.

I guess that just goes to show they should have let them get on with isolating and treating the bull ;)

Ok, so how would go about what I said, one man wishes to marry ten girls living in UK, that's a religious thingie too, so you would allow it breaking your own law ? ;)

Who am I to allow any damn thing?

They are seeking a court order, thus putting law above their beliefs. If you have failed to notice, they aint storming streets with their demands.

Perhaps you dont have faith in your juridical system ;)

hmm, I can rephrase that, so would be ok if that man would go to court and was arguing that Islam allows it and since you are so kind, the court would agree that we need to respect other religions and would allow him to marry 10 wives, I doubt that.

How this case would be different to the Hindus one with that bull ?

As far as I know, Every one is free to go and seek a court order for anything he wants to do, regardless whether court permits it or not. If having 10 wives is fine with Britain's law, the court will permit it. if it doesnt the court will reject the plea.
The same way if court finds its feasible to spare the bull they'll permit it.
I dont see any damn thing wrong with it.

Whats getting your racist nerve?

i think you mean they should have shot it right away. :D
they do not have anywhere to isolate the bull. but like you, them fools have now condemned the whole herd because they wanted to save 1 bull.

i guess you where also for support of not killing cows with BSE (mad cow disease)

TB is an airborne virus, you need an air tight place to isolate it.

I dont have anything against, they will just waste their time. And you know that its impossible to marry 10 girls in UK legally ;) It isnt racism, its an answer that they should respect the country they came to, too, but if they are british borned, well good luck then to waste their time, they already waste it with believing in bull or whatever. :)

And no, its not laughable, probably the thread should've been named "is it possible"

    That the court will decide.

BTW does anyone know what is the outcome of this whole episode?

Thats what I am asking, how do you say they are not respecting the country they came to?

EDIT UPDATE: The Court has made the decision:
    http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20070712/tuk-britain-religion-hindu-a7ad41d.html

Looks like they've failed to convince the court that "we have a very important meat industry to protect so their "god" has to slaughtered and incinerated."

I think that has answered your doubts on Respecting the country and its Law by Hindus NFS... They were very well within the law with their actions.

Now this is laughable.. A bullstar.. [IMG]

All they managed to do is convince the court that their childish beliefs are more important that a multi-billion pound meat industry.

It really is a sad time if someones "beliefs" can take president over things like infectious animal disease and laws.

Where does it stop? Do we now let every religious nut who happens to believe something do whatever they want regardless of the law simply because it's what they believe?
