Magx Directory has put together a guide for starting a new directory: Creating a Quality Directory: A Guide I want you guys to add comments so that I may improve it's quality. If you want to list mods you offer and URLs, prices, etc., I will add them to the mod list. Also, any other suggestions will be taken into consideration. I would post it here but it is lengthy and it has too many outgoing links for DP.
Its a really great read, very useful to someone starting their first and will help them avoid mistakes and even some of the backlash that they could experience here through certain choices. Repping you pipes
Quality article from a quality Directory Keep up the good work Please consider adding the Daily Listing Mod As seen on the home page here :- http://www.magx.net/ Thanks
Great article! This should definitely be saved for future reference. Also, thanks for the references Truly appreciated. Rob
Thank you for your comments. I'd like to transcend it to more of a guide for not only new directory owners, but old ones as well. I am going through and editing it to make it easier to read. It's so long and runs together after a while. If you guys have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
I know this is pure evil and lot of extra work for you... But can you please include http://www.indexscript.com/download.php, in your list of directory scripts... It is probably the best free script, i would vouch for that
It's not extra work. I will add it now! Thanks for your help! edit: BTW, does anybody know the script SevenSeek uses? I looked for it, but couldn't find the site or a thread about it here.
It seems there is someone who doesn't like me or Jeff very well. I've made backups to my site, so if you want to hack it, go ahead. First, I don't know anything about this other person's deeplink mod. I know there was uproar about someone offering it free and copying an0n. If the general consensus is that it wasn't stolen, and it is a viable alternative to an0n's mod, I will include it. From what I read by someone, Chris I think, some of the form filler software doesn't function correctly without the latest version of an0n's mod. If you bought all of the top mods and had them installed, it isn't unrealistic to expect to spend $400 or more. Either way, I'm not playing favorites. That's why I asked for people's suggestions. Second, your immature threats and bad grammar lead me to believe you are either really stupid or really naive. Either way, it's sad. I hope someone knows who you are so you may be brought out here. edit: If someone can say whether the other deeplink mod is generally accepted at DP, that would help.
If you decide to add mods sometime in the future don't forget to visit. Link Forever > Dargre Ripen Apples > LeopardAT1 Directory Share > Silky Smooth also Deep Links Mod > VSDan
If you can give links to threads of these mods, it would help. I'll add them now... I just don't know what they all are.
