Always optimise for google - WHY ??

Heres a few reasons why.

Google is the dominant search engine converting over 65% of all searches.

also google has the most restrictive titles and descriptions.

It has only 60 characters for the title and 120 characters for the description where as all the other have more.

so if you optimise for Yahoo lets say and you had 100 character title which would look fine in yahoo, but cut off at the 60 character limit in google, Where as the other way round, they would both look fine and utilise all the keywords.

just a little tips there.

 

Actually many webmasters focus their optimization on Google 'coz Google gives them more traffic and higher rankings... As we know that Google is the number SE.

 

I think Google cover more than 65% of the searches.
MSN, Yahoo, etc. won't bring you much traffic if any.
That's why everyone optimize his site for Google

 

Google is the best and most popular search engine, Yahoo! is used for noobs.

We optimise for Google because it brings the most traffic. I have way better rankings in Yahoo and MSN yet I get more traffic from Google

Shoot, Google search is standard when you install Firefox, so more people are gonna use it especially when they switch over. It's so sad that I didn't know what a Yahoo was 12 years ago, but yet that company got bested by a startup years later.

 

Simply because a most people use Google.

 

are u sure google will bring u 65% of traffic?? i believe it's 85% bro..Some my sites get traffic only thru google n blogs n not from any of the SE's so it's 95% apprx for me Google rules..

 

it doesnt matter, meta tags are almost useless anyways

 

google give more traffic so many webmaster focus google to get more traffic.It covers 65% of all traffic.

then yahoo 20%
MSN 10%

Google is the King for SE now.

 

Traffic does come more from Google in general. But if you are in a country where the local search engine or Yahoo is used more widely than G, you will be better off optimising for them

 

Yep, google gives the most traffic but does it bring quality traffic??? Do you know what SE's are they?

 

Thats true if you are only looking to get traffic from your "local" audience.

But most are after worldwide audience.

 

Mostly people use Google for Optmization because Google is the bigest search engine. Google is the most popular search engine, everybody knows about Google. It brings most traffic on our site about 65% so many people optimizes on Google.
