I have read a number of posts on the subject of backlinks but I am still somewhat confused. My website is a small retail t-shirt site that is a bit off the wall. How do I get quality backlinks and what type of site would I request a link from?
1. Submit t shirt page to directories about clothing, custom design shirt or topics that discuss about type of shirt you're selling. 2. Blog about it (15 reasons why they should buy your shirt, product updates) 3. Identify your competitors and determine who are linking to them.
check out competition and similar sites, and use link:domain.com in google and see who is linking to them. this will give u an idea of who to target asking for links etc.
How about you get involved in forums about fashion and link to your site in the signature link. Also, blogs- find popular fashion blogs and leave incisive comments. Many blog comment features allow you to link to your site.
First of all find most appropriate keyword for your site using keyword research tool and then check out competition for that keyword analys competitor's site strategies and then start optimization for your website. You should do directory submission for tshirt page to cloths related directories. you can use blogging for ur site optimization.
Well submit to webdirectorys in shopping / clothing / some have T-shirts evem Plus an article or 2 containing anchor text will get some good links And you can get links from shopping clothes sites But rememer Reciprocal are not as powerfull as one way links
Directory Submission Article Submission Advert Submission Blogs Social Bookmarking Link Exchange with related sites that has PR Forum and online groups posting
Try link-bait: a picture of a very funny t-shirt for instance. Get that promoted on stumbleupon and in blogs and you should be able to get a few hundred or even thousand links to it.
Join Social Bookmarking sites.. I will give you list of Social Bookmarking sites. Submit it to directories in clothing category...
How many times can you submit you site to a backlink a day, is there a maximum amount, ive heard that if you submit to many times they will think that your just spamming, is this true?
Drewski I'm far from an expert on this. However I think it really depends on the content. I believe the search engine SERP will only temporarily go down if the number of links exceeds some search engine band of normalcy. For example at one point I submitted to a bunch of directories for my day spa site at the same time I purchased a handful of blog posts. I then noticed my SERPs temporarily went down. Based on what I've ready I believe this directly related. Not only that but this was the only change on my site. So if you grow links much faster than what is normal for our site then you may be temporarily penalized.
