From "Peon" To "Spirit Walker" (Success Story)

When i firstly thought about writing this, i intended to make it an e-book and charge few $$ for every copy :p but this devil thought vanished. why not giving away some quality free stuff ? so i will open this thread and start venting out and discussing my posts with you so every post in this thread (from anyone ) can be a guide that will shed some light for newbies...

I came to DP almost 1 year ago with bare hands (0$) and i was amazed to see that the web is a good that is being sold and bought (i'm not a computer n00b but everyone lives and learns)

anyhow, i had to start somewhere i think i started with writing and doing some small stuff (that i pay people now to do it for me ) and i was spending all my time reading and watching (this is the key for success) no matter if i will but or not, i just keep reading auctions and watching bids and reading in non trading forums to know more about how the web is operated (forgot to mention that before i come to DP i knew everything about cPanel and installing some scripts like IPB and administrating forums) so i wasn't that n00b back then (see few lines above )

my hands and my brains were my only capital that i had to invest and it was really a good investment because i was writing articles and helping people (i remember writing 2 lines as site introduction for 20$) so earning money on DP isn't hard if you have some skills but people just rush things and want to jump over in 1 step and they wonder how others make huge amounts of money (thinking there are some demons spread money over some DP members :D ) but it's not hard to get money only if you know your way through the way to the roof

to cut it off, it's not about adsense guys ... while now i know how to get some good money from adsense (where Good has unlimited definitions :D ) but i also know that there are 101 ways to get money from the internet other than adsense (here i'm making title for my coming e-book :p ) but i really mean it - Adsense is not the web's god and Yahoo proved that with their amazing payments (i envy lucky Americans who can join Yahoo :p )

enough with adsense for now and let's move on, my big challenge was that my country isn't supported by Paypal and making money on the internet without paypal is another challenge so i had to look for alternative so after extensive search i found that Moneybookers is the future paypal since it's supported worldwide and much cheaper and more over, it doesn't have chargeback (i was afraid of chargebacks a lot since i didn't feel secure about the business environment back then)

I remember when i had a 2$ hosting account and when registerfly took my only 3 domain i owned back then (it was a nightmare for me) but by the time you get even with such glitches like losing site data when you have no backup and such

Don't lose hope easily and don't be shocked when people don't trust you in the beginning and don't panic when you start a thread to sell something and you see no bids (although some other threads with more expensive similar product have bids ) but this is just because you are newbie with no itrader so you have to cut through your way to get some real reliable iTrader points (offering services that can be paid after delivery will get you some iTrader points quickly ) so day after day and month after month you start to get stronger and people trust you more (i now manage some adsense accounts and host some websites for customers that i support) so this is the nature of the business and you have to get used to it

not sure what to add now but i'm sure that i've more to write on (sharing your experience or success story in this thread is welcomed and i won't accuse you of hijacking my thread :D ) because i intended to open this discussion to help new fellow members of the great DP

Guys, don't lose faith because someday money will be coming your way...

    Regards
    Ahmed

For a peon to start getting money from DP, do these things in this order

    1- Offer forum posting

2- Offer article writing www.ezinearticles.com will help you get knowledge about almost anything you need to know

3- By now you should have some good number of posts so you can offer signature and avatar for rent (don't make long term deals because you will be getting more posts and higher price by time)

4- offer script installation (if you really know how to but you can always try in your spare time and better start with

    wordpress
    phpld
    vbulliten
    ipb

basically know what people are looking for and try to know how to do it (this is a rule of thumb)

define the market needs and then work on offering it because there is some kind of fashion, sometimes it's the proxies frenzy and sometimes automated blogs frenzy and sometimes celebrity sites so you have to go with the flow

:D Your story is similar to so many past peons here. Although I'm a walker too, I'm still in the mid phase - doing some article writing for quick returns until my websites have enough content, and offer a steady income.

One think that newbies fail to realize is that they should not end up selling all of their time, and keep learning continually- this is very important. I spend 2+ hours everyday brushing up my php skills :D

Thanks for the inspirational story :D

When i joined Webmastertalk.co.uk back in January 2005, was when i received a email from www.clickbully.com, i had no money, no paypal account, not even a bank account.

In April 2005, i got my first domain, robertall.com, which i still own today and use sometimes.

All my webmastering was based on webmastertalk, until September 2005, when i started using Namepros, got banned there, and moved on. I joined nearly every webmaster forum at the time, promoting products on multiple forums.

I joined here in Feburary, didnt even post until September 2006. Been active since september, when i got banned on namepros for a year. September 6th - the day i can post again on namepros. I have already proved on namepros i am trustworthy.

These days, i just stick to 1 forum, as i cant be arsed with switching sites all the time.

Question: Has the internet helped my life?
Answer: Yes, it has helped with getting me some income, even though it will not be enough to keep my life running, it is still something.

I had 12k posts on a forum that i used to moderate in the past but not anymore :D

but you know what ? there is no point that is called success because every time you need to get to a higher target and so on

I still have more to do because i have just started :p

too bad i wasn't here when DP started :(

Patience is one of the morals that will add value to your online business

Don't rush things and don't take on people and rush them to get your service because some people suspect everything and everyone and some people ask lots of questions before buying so if you be patient with them and give them as much info & support as u can then you will gain a new customer (or maybe more)

Even if they don't buy, they will appreciate the fact that you was helpful person and may even refer friends to your service and thus your patience does free viral marketing.

Tech Entrance, very nice writing here! Rep is now coming your way lol.
I agree with you on all points you've pointed down, and I hope many newbies (I'm in fact a newbie too- still) will actually follow the guidelines you've pointed out here.
    It's all about patience.

    Keep it up!
