phpLinkBid v1.4 Details & Update Status

Greetings phpLinkBid owners,

I wanted to share some details of phpLinkBid v1.4 as we near this release and gather any last minute feedback! v1.4 has a bunch of stuff we've been waiting for. Originally planning on a service release, a couple free MODs and a later release for v1.4, it just made more sense to include everything in one clean update.

As always, the new version is a free update for existing phpLinkBid owners. Installing the update will be easy for most users - just upload the new files and run the installer. Instructions for updating custom v1.2 templates will also be included.

This update includes some unique enhancements for directory owners like unlockable deep links by bid amount, bid reports, notices and much more.

Also, since it has come to my attention that having PR images from prtool.info is considered devious by some, and I require an unedited backlink for using the tool, I'll be removing these until such time that we can integrate PR functions with the script.

So folks, here is a glimpse at the new features and fixes phpLinkBid will bring soon to a Web server near you!

* mod_rewrite for broken REQUEST_URI fix
* CMS addslashes error (not updating pages w/ quotes)
* Category link counts counting unpaid links

This list not 100% complete but it contains the major bits of the new update.

If you can make any suggestions for improving this update I will do my best to implement them. Within reason of course, I do want to release 1.4 some time this century! There is no current release date as quality of the update is paramount, but July is looking good.

Good to hear about the improvement Tekime, all the best with the launch.

Please make the old versions templates compatible with the new ones or kindly do make a tutorial on how to upgrade templates.

 

I am happy withe the PR tool an its links, perhaps you can have a version or template that retains it.

 

That would be easy to include back in, if you wished, in any template. It is a simple line of coding. Once the new version is released you will be able to get answers on how to add that feature back on the support forum.
