 sorry I'm new at this:

What would be the title for the owner & leader of a website/graphics designing company ?

I would say owner but that doesn't sound formal at all

    Thanks!

Meaning they handle clients, and assign projects to coders/designer?

    Just double checking :)

Anything "higher" titles above just managing which clearly states that I own my business? lol :)

I would also say Managing Director. It sounds formal and gets the point across for a smaller web company. :)

That would be the Managing Director, its the top dog position. Its common to have the founder of the company act as the MD for the business.

    See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Managing_director

As far as I'm aware, You only have a managing director in a PLC, where you have a board of director.

    If you're a one-man band, it's proprietor.
