Do you think PR important or NO?

If you want fast money then pr is important. If you want long term money then serps is the way to go. But if you can afford to do so then go for both.

 

I like PR because it is very important to my directory

 

PR is an important factor. But don't focus on it alone coz' there are still other factors to consider.

PR is not important.But when you get high PR you can exchange with quality site.And get alot traffic from theme.

In my opinion, it is very important. But not the most important thing to success. Just something to consider.

 

If PR had no bearing on SERPS Google would not use it, so of course it is important and affects SERPS, to what degree no one really knows.

I like it, at least it is one of the useful indicators.

PR is only important for link sales and nothing else. It has very less to do with ranking in SERP's

 

Pr is important to any successful site. Not only does it provide somewhat of a Badge of excellence, but also brings much benefits.

-It does increase your chances to become powerful in google for organic traffic
-It separates the boys to the men(girls to women)
-It gives major profits because there's a high demand of this respect.

I, of course am not at this point, but I'm working on it(pr 4 is my top, next update, I'm hoping for better)

Can't argue with this. Many of you are saying that it doesn't help with ranking but it does because of a simple rule of "supply and demand". If there's a demand for high pr sites than everyone talks and wants to walk with a high pr site. If you got a high pr site, expect to climb when the internet wants to link about your site all over the place.

I remember you used to doubt about importance of PR in SERPs till few days back -- and we used to have indirect encounters.

Now I am glad -- you believe in PR.

Basically, IMHO - there has been a time when webmasters could optimize their sites and put them ahead of high PR sites. As we can get the definition of High PR sites on Google's webmasters Central -we know only those sites which are considered quality and useful to surfers get high PR.

But due to webmasters & SEOs manipulating PR by buying high PR links -- it lost much of its importance till few weeks back.

The new search results are showing its importance again.

Please remember that --there will always be few exceptions. I am just talking about the general trend.

PR is not only about $$$ from link-sdales. Please refer to RobertD's post where he quotes Google's official view on the importance of PR on SERPs

 

PR is no guarantee for ranking, but higher PR is a measure for the amount of links to a site - and quality links do help get better rankings. So PR IS a factor in the serps, but bought PR muddies the waters a bit, because that's the type of PR that can get you penalized more quickly.
