Squidoo Lenses - worth the effort?

I created a squidoo lens with some links back to one of my sites today. My question is it worth the effort? Since Squidoo actively encourages people to use this to market their products and services, won't good eventually catch on to this and lower it's PR?

 

Who knows but for the moment at least squidoo does rank well with google and a lens is useful for directing traffic.

 

i think every link will help you but what is the page of the page that your link stays?

 

No idea about PR but i know a few people who live off Squidoo marketing. I started a few lenses myself and cant say i had any results yet.

 

I just started with it. Everything helps, but I'm not sure that I'll get much business or income from it.

 

I don't think Squidoo has any advantages of lets say Wordpress or Blogger.
Sure if you have the time it wont hurt but don't expect a great results either.

 

There was a post on this forum by someone saying that a Squido site linking to his website ranked higher than any other sites for his targeted keywords. If that is true, then sure they help a lot.

 

I have seen Squidoo lenses showing up more and more in google search results. I have dozen lenses saved and partialy developed for future use.

I think that Squidoo will get more and more valuable... slowly. I recommend grabbing a few related to your keywords and dumping some content to get them indexed. It could be big. Being in position is smart.

 

I will have to take on the creation of a Squidoo lense. I have yet to put in the time to determine if it will add any value but I think that every little thing counts. getting keywords I agree may be the secret with this tool also

No Squidoo lenses are still on first page of Google. Google "Sheetworld" and see.

 

There is a squidoo lens that shows up on the first page of google for a popular keyword.

I checked the backlinks at backlinkwatch and there is one pr3 link from youtube(nofollow), and about 50 pr0 youtube links(nofollow) and 100 pr0 forum signature links pointing to it and that's about it.

I don't get how it's ranking so well. My website has many pr3+ links, using that keyword anchor, pointing to it and my site's on page 5.

 

My Squidoo lenses rank high in Google for keywords that my main site will probably never rank for, so this is a great way to get more traffic from the search engines.

 

I still don't understand Squidoo. I have a couple of lenses, and I think I made 1 cent yesterday, but I truly do not get it, not do I understand how it will help mt blog

 

I got my first Squidoo $ sent to my PayPal account last week. I think I made $10 after a year and 7 months.

I have a PR 3 Squidoo lens that makes no money, but regularly sends me traffic and linkjuice.

 

You did well to check every single keyword to come to that conclusion.

 

Damn. Within 4 months I pulled $10 and then after that it grew every month.

 

i think squidoo should be a great SEO benefit. It was setup so the money that was made goes to charity. Therefore it should have a lot of quality links from "trusted" non-commercial sites, objective press, non-profits, etc.

 

I think it worth the time, one of my lenses ranked very well in Google for many good terms.. but that didnt last more than 2 weeks, then Google kicked it out nowhere in the SERP ..
