There has been lots of supporters of PR and opposers as well. I just want to see --if supporters are greater or opposers! Lets DP result begins Please enjoy
Seems the Poll is I like PR- I don't bother -about PR PR plays important role for SERPs PR has no relation with SERPs All the options are valid based on individuals opinions. Example : For link sellers PR is important For PPC Guys SERPS is important
There is only 1 reason that I like PR The link sales Anytime you wanna try to get a few extra bucks to pay for your site or do whatever Link Sales go a lot off of PR and other ranking systems. It's nice to have a PR5 page so you can sell some links.
i dont hate PR so i like PR i like sense of doing better for anything, its sort of like competition lol
There was another thread like this awhile back and I did the following simple Google-like analysis... I used a person's number of posts as "authority", so I tallied the posts of those for-and-against. The result was "PR not important." Also, those with highest number of posts were the ones who said PR is not important. Newbies like myself were saying it is. The result wasn't totally lop-sided...it was around 60% against PR being important. Anyway, I got to thinking about it. Is it just that newbies don't know any better or is it something else? Personally I think it is something else... Those of us just getting our websites going are going to need PR. PR is a big factor in SERPs. IMHO you have to some halfway decent PR FIRST...then you can optimize keywords more, etc. Also, there's a difference between a site that's in it for the long haul, as opposed to the quick-and-easy sites (like MFA site). An MFA site can just focus on optimizing for long tall keywords, and not worry so much about PR. Older more established sites probably already have OK PR, which is why the old-timers say it doesn't matter. Personally, my web design site currently has a PR 0 ( predictions are for either a 5 or 6 after update ), while most of the big players in my field have a 6 or 7. So, it seems obvious to me that I TOTALLY need some PR to be competitive. After that...sure...I can optimize keywords more, etc. But first I need some PR. If I were doin' a MFA, affiliate site, etc...PR wouldn't be a big factor. I'd probably just be buying cheap keywords from from adwords, etc. to drive in traffic to my high paying keywords webpage. Also, the long tail keywords are easier to get a good SERP placement, so again...PR is not a factor. Just a thought
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO It's just a fuck... number many people give to many importancve It doesn't mean traffic And even for links sales it should not be the 100% factor
This thread is to---- Judge which group has majority support among DP members--as there are always warring groups FOR or AGAINST Each member can choose 2 answers.
I don't think PR is that important, unless of course you are selling links. But, I do think that PR plays a small role in your SERP position. I believe it to be one of dozens of factors that impacts your ranking, so I do not disregard PR completely. I do believe that some people put WAY too much importance on PR though. In my opinion PR should have the same importance of any other seo technique, no more, no less. Some people just seem to get obsessed over their PR and how to improve it when they could be spending their time adding new content to their site, building links, optimizing their site, etc.
Google is going NUTs to put authority sites on top of every SEARCH result. Also Google's Real PR is Dynamic --always being updated while the Toolbar PR we refer to is STATIC. So IMHO -- PR will play much much more important roles in coming days --not only for link sales -- but also for SERPs ranking. It seems Google is trying to improve its SERPs algo and trying to re-instate the importance of PR.
lol the massive "i like PR" result will explain a lot of these threads then Honestly though, I outrank PR7 sites with my little PR3 ones.
Yes, you are saying right "jhnrang" PR is important and future everybody will be like PR and will understand the importance of PR.
PR is also important for new sites that are looking to exchange links. It is difficult for a PR0 site to ask a PR5 to link to it, because the PR5 site doesn't necessarily know the traffic or want to check real SERP. Having some green helps.
