Database of trademarks

Hello guys,
can anybody share with me a resource where I can checkout if a word or a phrase is trademarked/copywrited or not?
It's best if I can see the US database for that and the database of the European Union (if these are made public)

My goal is to check if and where a certain word is trademarked.
