Why does it take so long to get listed? "theory" The people that are editors in your category also have sites in that category and dont want competition. Agree? Disagree? Circle one.
Disagree.. They probably spent 5 min reviewing a site, they probably get a thousands a day. If they have sites in there, they would put them on the top.
Disagree The structure of the ODP makes that very difficult, since over 100 editors could edit in any particular category. No-one has absolute power. It's not a new theory, either - it's a standard conclusion leapt to by people who are looking for a reason why the review process takes a lot longer than they expect it to. Search on this forum, or on the Resource Zone for similar people coming up with similar theories many, many times. There have been cases in the past where such a thing has happened. If proven, the editing careers of those editors are very short-lived, and then other editors come in to clean up the mess, by tracking back through the editing logs to fix whatever harm that editor did.
I can edit in 50 categories - only one has a site of mine in it (and I listed all my competitors, even those who had not even submited). Your theory does not hold up.
Oh dear, I checked my logs; I've worked in 10605 different categories and I only have 2 sites listed. It seems I'm so far behind I'll never catch up. Plus, I can't figure out how to circle "disagree". What a day!
