    Hello,
    There is a word phrase that I really need to rank well on really quick. (within a week or so)
    The phrase isn't to hard as i rank well for much tougher words. But how do I rank quickly up on google?
    This is for a job application and they want to see if I can rank quickly for a certain term.
    What do you recomend me to do?

    You should have told them that SEO does not work that quick and if it did they would not need you!

    Overnight results don't exist nor should anyone expect them or offer that service. As a good SEO professional you should make that point understood by any potential employer and if they don't accept that answer, than you must walk away!

    I agree with Emma.. if there was a way to make it FAST.... everyone would be ranking #1.... which ain't gonna happen.

    As for ---

    Close.. but no cigar.... See Phrase Based Indexing and Retrieval for 'relevance' issues. Google did buy applied semantics and their LSA technologies.. but that was for AdWords/AdSense... not the RI SERPs

    There are no such thing as fast track in doing SEO.. SEO'ing your site takes time.. and it needs a lot of process to follow..

    I agree with Dave's blog post. If you want to get indexed in 24 hours, links from a half dozen social bookmarking sites with do it. Getting the site ranked is a different issue.

    The only thing I disagree with is submitting to the major crawling search engines. I don't ever do that. I figure that a site is not worth getting listed if it does not have a few decent links. If it has those links, it will be indexed.

    If you do not have good titles, descriptions and on-page content it is all not worth the time.

    Eli at http://www.bluehatseo.com/ has some great tools and tips. Consider rewarding him for it. ;)

    Thanks. I REALLY suggest getting about 2-3 PR 4-6 links to the domain as soon as it launches. I did that with the "globalwarming awareness2007" contest and I was ranked in 12 hours and was on the 2nd page. Good luck!

    For really quick ranking (not just indexing) the best way would be to use an authority site like squidoo, hubpages, wordpress.com or similar that allows users to create their own pages/blogs and put your content there.

    Pages on these sites often rank very well as soon as they get indexed, especially for low competition terms. Make sure the subdomain name (wordpress.com) or foldername (hubpages/squidoo) is the keyword/keyphrase you want to rank for, link there from several social bookmarking sites like mentioned before and submit it via the free QUIT (Quick Indexing Tool) from Eli (bluehatseo.com)

    You need to hire a very popular and trusted SEO asap. Within a week is really too fast imo unless there is some serious black hat methods used.

    Ranking or being indexed are two different thing. You can rank high with less competitive keywords within a week I am sure (this is mostly about being indexed). There is no traffic value or whatsoever though.

    In either case, backlinks are the keys.
