I visited Malaysia last summer. Beautiful country, I hope to return there one day. The people were always extremely friendly. The food was pretty good too, especially in Kuching (on Borneo). Malaysia's biggest plus imo is its beautiful and diverse nature.

Lol, what is that supposed to mean? Ok, there are some small tribes that used to decapitate people, but they don't do that anymore.

I went to Penang a few years ago (my Visa to Thailand run out so I needed to do it in order to jump back into Thailand) the place was nice but bastard expensive compared to Thailand IMO.

Nice people though and very friendly. I stayed there a week before going back into Thailand, it's a country that's a bit like Thailand but nothing like Thailand if you get my drift.

I am from India and so I must say that I am near to Malaysia compared to people from the USA. I know it is a nice place but one has to pick up the right hotel to stay sice its quite expensive, they say.Correct me if I am wrong.

Quite expensive compared to Asian standards, but still very cheap compared to European and Western standards. If you don't need much luxuary, you can find a place to sleep for a few dollars per night.

the are many hotels here, if you go for 6 star hotel of course the cost is high..go for 4-5 star, a standard room you can get $40-$60 ..is it expensive ?

the food its true, very delicious and spicy :)

the people, yes truly asia....you can see Malay, Chinese, Indian, Punjabi, and also white man he he

If you plan to come over malaysia, just PM me, I can recommend nice place for you ...if you have USD1000 is good enough for 4-6 days stay ...

1000 is a lot. I'm sure it can be A LOT cheaper. Unless you want to live like a king of course :)

To live like a king you will need 3000-5000 for a week. 1000 is average, anyway that's what I spend for a week for Turkey or Egypt vacation. Of course it can be 500 or even lower but I will not call that rest.

i went to Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia few years ago.thailand was the cheapest and fun but i really couldn't walk on their streets it was very smelly with cooking all the insects and stuff. Malaysia and Singapore were nicer but i liked Singapore more! yet Malaysia was nice too! :D
