I just finished http://www.articletrader.com and would love some reviews :)
I tried to make it is as search engine friendly as possible, and I also made sure the submission process as quick and easy.

Authors can get live links (with anchor text) in both the article and 'about author' text.

Let me know what you think.

Colors are a litte dull and a search feature would be nice, but everything else looks good. You have any idea how bad I wanted that domain? lol I bought a very similar one and once i get my site up these sites might have to compliment each other.:D

Wow, I'm no webmaster or anything but I like it. It has a simple, clean look with tons of good content. My only suggestion would be to add a splash of brighter color somewhere, maybe in the logo. Not too much though. Great ovall site!

Thanks for the comments. I agree about the colors, but I have no idea how best to bring in some more color. Any suggestions?
A search feature is definitely coming.
I actually bought the domain from this forum a while back, just never got around to building a site until now :)

It's been a long time since I've seen a content site without Adsense all over it. A refreshing change.

I liked it. Will be linking in a few good articles from the site on some of my own.

Nice, but I agree, the grey on grey isn't particularly warm and inviting.

I've been trying to change the colors to something more soothing, but just cannot get it right.. The logo should get more color, but what about the rest? Should I change the headings colors, the background?
Any suggestions would be appreciated (I'm no good at choosing colors)

In terms of adding color, here's a suggestion:

Change your logo to a light-ish, vibrant blue (not too light), then change all the links (but not the headers) in your left and right columns to the same shade of blue. Overall, the grey is nice, but yes, a splash of color will perk it up.

I like the layout you dont need any colors how about allowing members, its easy to read and people like that, very nice but homepage is really dull for frequent users and it has a template feel to it,

Overall, very nice for occasional user who wonders in to individual articles to read, but really dull and unatractive for the frequent users.

    Ok GooD Luck

    nice site,
i can hardly see the mouseover effect on your left column.

are you going to add sub-categories? eg: there are 18 pages of education stuff, and i don't want to have to wade through it.

Sub categories will come later, first thing is a search function.
18 pages is ok, health has 226.. Moving all the articles to the correct subcategoy is going to be a challenge

Well, it is an improvement, but it still looks kind of "washed out". Use Vibrant colors.

Now if you could only figure out "allowing members", you'd really be on to something!

I like that the main content area is easy to read and very useful email feature.
However, the colors are a bit dull on the sides.

Really nice site. Simple yet to the point. For some reason Membership links are all the way at the bottom below the fold. That seems odd. But then again, I have no idea what the membership benefits are anyway (you don't seem to mention it anywhere)
