How did Alive & Aviva became so popular?

Only rarely. That's what the day is for! Just kidding.

 

Unlike a lot of other directory owners, Jeff and Chris are both amiable, and have great communication skills.

Marketing and money play a part, sure. But creating networks of friendships is often a businesses greatest strength. Too many people on this forum are out for fast results, and often bite the hand that is feeding them in the process.

The people that impress me the most are the ones that take the time to observe common courtesy. Those that are rude, and there are lots, get nowhere - and it doesn't matter how much money they have, their inability to adopt social conventions closes most doors to them - which is what affects their popularity (or lack thereof).

Indeed, no doubt about that. I bet they are hardworking too.

I guess there is a lot to be learnt from both of them. And, promoting the directory isnt all about money. As a directory owner you need excellent communication skills!

For how long have these 2 directories been around?

 

I think they are really motivated towards the Goal & immensely dedicated. I think that is the reason for their success.

 

I believe that money and good promotion are two most imporant factor,

I am very satisfied with what I have achieved with directorydream.com in 3 months, but I couldn't have done it without investing plenty of money.
So money is really the most important factor, in my opinion.

 

I believe both alive and aviva cannot be denied top 10 because of their aggressive campaign and promotions.

I don't particularly like Ted, but he has a point and best in short describes why these guys are having success. It's more than just promotion.
