My new website has been picked by msn but not by google .
How long does it normally take to get organically picked for new websites ?

    Thanks
    Regards

It depends on how old your site is? To me it seems google is always a tad slower, but, then again, they do have the biggest database.

How long it's been since your website got picked up ?
Because MSn now shows my website for two keyphrases . Not this one but an older one .

Try to add your site to some directories, you need more links. First google will only take your site url into the database, then aprox. 7 days to 1 month to start indexing your pages.

MSN seems to add sites quicker then google but once google catch's up your hits seem to jump up a notch aswell seings its the leading search engine.

Google can also be a little more "moody" than other engines. If you're caught up to no good, carrying out activity they deem to be adversely affecting their index, they may give you a deliberate ranking drop.

As your site is new, you are undoubtedly in the Google sandbox. You might well be in there for several months.

I agree that MSN is faster than G. Sitemaps don't seem to help me get indexed by G faster. Links to your site seems to be the key as previous posters stated. Focus on adding content and links to your site and you should be ok.

If you get one good inbound link you will get indexed by all three of the big SEs.

sometimes, for me, the problem is not really indexing but on updating the SE's cache? It's even much excruciating waiting for that..

Sometimes updating the cache seems to take forever.
