    Where's the best place?

Preferably someone you've worked with. I need one and am willing to pay low to mid $xxx for one... I'd like to use a site that's recommended by word of mouth though.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

Free ones could be found at vbulletin.org I believe.
Forumtemplates.com has a lot nice ones too. Hope this helps. ;)

Lol, I just noticed the word 'custom' in your thread title :$
Well, here at DP you'll already be abled to find some coders. Other than that, you could go to freelance websites like getafreelancer.com and such to post it on, and hope that a good coder posts a bid for the project ;)

Yeah, I'm looking for exclusively custom skins. I don't want a stock one.

Preferably a custom skin designer you've used yourself.

Myself, I never used a custom skin designer, actually, and certainly not for vbulletin forums, as I only had 2 vbulletin forums so far.
But what I would do myself (but that is just personal of course!!) is make a contest. I'll give an example; I don't know the usual rates for custom vbull themes, but I think its around $200 to $300. However, for the small example will work with few dollars.

Say, you start up a contest in the contest forum here at digitalpoint. "Custom CODED vbulletin style - $2" :D
People will make you designs, and you pick the best one. Maybe the best one however is not a coder. What could happen then? The designer asks someone else he knows (a coder) to code it, and they split the money (say, the designer $1 and the coder $1). That way everybody is happy: you have a custom design, which you liked most, its coded (you don't have any work with it anymore) and you pay only after all work is finished.

This is of course how I would do it, maybe that isn't the way of working you like. It's just a suggestion ;)

I've considered this... but I'm skeptical on how many people would actually enter.

You might be right, but you could say in your topic of course "a minimum of X entries must be posted before this contest ends". ;)
