You're not modifying the code. You just add styles before and after. You can read several posts in adclustr.com about the official answer of Google about that styles!

    Well,
Its not changing the adcode, inspite, its adding some more effects beside it.
Though, it may not be accepted bu google.

Definitely nothing wrong with that - in fact google just added the option to have rounded corners out of the adsense box. See the last post by Jensense - or just try creating new adsense blocks through it's own tool.

A few months ago I put images as the background to a table and put ads in the table and I was warned that I was drawing attention to the ads

I don't think those would be allowed, although they are nice.

If google WANTED us to use them with their ads, they would be providing them to us.

All I can see those doing is bringing to much attention on the ads which google does not want. They want clicks people because are interested in the ads, not because that's the first and only thing they see on the page.

Ok here is how it works.

100 of us could ask google if its ok, and the odds are, 50 of us would get a 'yes' from google, and the other 50 would get a 'no'. Its in a grey area that isnt covered by their TOS. You can do it with out getting banned, but there is a 50/50 chance you will get a warning. Some of you may try it, and be asked to remove it, whereas others may be able to run it for the next 2 years until google addresses it in their TOS.

I like the Oval half banner. I guess this will allow people to incorprate better styles with designs of their sites.

Its not against Google's terms. In fact the owner of adsense background images asked Google about this and he got the following reply from Google :

To put images besides ads is against Google's terms, not background images.

If you want to buy more background images check my signature.

    Thanks
