What do you think will happen to your Directory/ies after you die?...
Have you ever thought about who you want to take over and manage your directories and your other websites when you're gone?...
What you do you think you would do if your time is near?...
To whom would you entrust your precious directories?..
    Any plans.. yet?..

Just humor me on this if you find it nonsense or irrelevant or unhealthy or morbid. :p
...Cause I've been asking to myself these questions lately. :D

    wow creepy question......
I will post a small story...

An ancient Greek, Diogenis, known for his being one of the most wise philosophers back then, spent his life living in a small container, made of mud.
Some people asked him what will happen if he dies, and since he had nobody to bury him they asked him: What are you going to do? You have nobody. The dogs will eat your body.
He answered: OK then give me a spear so that I can drive them away.
    - But you are going to be dead. How are you going to use the spear?
    - Then why should I care about the dogs eating my body?

I think that my spirit will take care of my directories, when the moment comes.
    ;)

My clients --those who have listing in my directories --NEED NOT WORRY.

As my Directory network expands -I am training my soon to be FREE EDITOR--my wife:p
I already gave her basic training of how to review sites and will continue training her --how to run directories.

So if something happens to me --the LEGACY would go on:p

I hope i leave it for my family... No one knows the moment of his death so its always a good idea to have all the information stored somewhere for family reference in the future....;)

I'm 64, so I do think about this.

I keep my hosting and domain name paid up for years in advance. That way, I could fall off the planet, and the website would just hang on until those paid-up years expired. It's a nonprofit, information-providing site, so it doesn't require ongoing attention.

The original poster's question has made me rethink my strategy. I see that I need to leave some written instructions for my children on how to continue paying for the domain name and hosting.

    Good post. Green rep added.

In reality and I hope that's what you're looking for here, do any of us really think ANYONE will be using directories in 20+ years? I doubt it. I only care what happens to it while I am running it. I personally don't care what happens to mine after I'm gone but good luck to all of us

I would never want my family to deal with this sort of business. They all have or will have something more creative and fun going on in their lives than this.
