    Hi guys,

I'm just thinking about why is it good to write articles that points to your website etc. For exampel, i have a website about porsche cars and why should i then write about porsche cars articles and then post it in different "article" websites?

Yes, I know it can give you some extra traffic but what does it really do? Good backlinks? Good traffic... i would really like to know why :)

Something with a good read entices the visitor to like it, more people liking it = more visitors?

I've never really done articles though...

The article directories usually have a decent page rank, which could in turn enhance your page rank when you insert your URL into the articles that you are submitting to them. It also can send a fair amount of traffic to your sent when visitors read the articles. The more articles that you write, the more traffic you will receive.

The reason people do that is mainly to get backlinks that are on topic.

They will definetly increase your backlinks.. however, don't do it if you are looking to increase your traffic.

Why wouldn't it be good for traffic? When someone reads the article and likes what he/she reads, isn't it reasonable that they might follow the link to your site?

    Thanks!

Just make your mind up how much you want to pay, and post an offer here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=102

There are other places round and about on the internet - but this will probably work for you for now.

It is possible that they might follow the link; however, if you're doing it JUST for traffic reasons I don't think its the best route.

No, you will be penalized for duplicate content. If you are going to submit articles to directories, make sure they are rewritten well enough that it is distinguishable from your own content.

Yes. I agree with VentureOnline. This is a effective way to increase traffic.

I wouldn't consider article submitting an effective way to increase traffic.
It takes time to write one article, and the traffic that will follow through your article would be very small (for me atleast), so this method is only good for backlinks without you having to link back to the article website (which is much better than link exchanging).

    Here is formula
Good articles + Article Directories = Good number backlinks
Good articles + Article Directories =/= Good Traffic

i generally do articles submmission, articles are good to get the back links not for the good traffic untill and unless your stuff is not popular. If your stuff is good enough then only; can be converted into good traffic from that backlink.

One thing you can do to try and increase the number of people who follow the link to your site is to write a sort of 'two part' article. This is where the article you submit to the directory discusses a certain problem, and then your bio box at the bottom tells the reader to click your link to read the second part of the article, which will be on your own website. The second part of the article will discuss possible solutions.

Interesting idea. How long would the article have to be in total?

Google wouldn't penalize the duplicate content on the first page that is shared with the directories? I still like the rewriting idea better I think.
