Did you left your day job for adsense earnings?

I would like to know how many of you left your day job for earning money from adsense, or any other online income (examples will be great). How satisfied are you from working from home.

    :(
It's sad I know so many people who worked their *ss off in University to get a degree and they're stuck with dead end 9-5 jobs making 60k/year.
Hard to get on a high enough level with adsense to quit your job though.

its not as easy as it sounds, I think most people find working for themselves really hard. Its the fact you need strict discipline and motivation. Apply this to web sites and then come the factors of actually writing content, promoting your sites come into play so overall its actually much harder than a 9-5 for most people. Obviously this does not include all people as I am sure some people find it as easy as a walk in the park.

    I did... Sort of...
Several months ago I accepted a pretty major promotion where I work.. After doing this new job for several months I quickly realized that I was not happy with it and I had some major issues with the "way they do things" .. I was ready to quit and walk away, and go full-time with webmastering, etc - but I didnt want to throw away 9-years at the company. So instead of quitting, i simply "gave back" the promotion - I basically told them that i was not going to do the job anymore. I told them that they could fire me if they wanted to, otherwise I was going to go back to doing what I was doing before (the previous position was still open) - I was prepared for them to walk me out the door, and if they did I would just work on my website(s) full time. That was 3 months ago and I guess they value me because I'm still working there. More recently I have offered to work only part time; this would give me more time to work on my online-business but still keep the steady income and benefits from my employer.

I made a post in my blog last week about how important it is to have multiple income streams, which increases overall earnings, and also makes you less reliant on Adsense - this makes it less risky if you were to quit your 'day job' ..

It is my wish to leave my day job and work only for myself .. Online business.. But I dont have eanugh time to work for my own online business, and cant concentrate on my day job thinking of online business... :D
If I will earn much than my daily job I will leave it. That is why i had decided to start online business. But I am new on it, can stay just started, no luck yet :(
For me will be ok if I will earn from 2000$ per month, after it I can leave and work hard on my online business to earn more.

    i like your thinking.
my plan B is similar... get to the point where i can work (day job) on a part-time basis, and do "online" the rest of the day/night.

logic: keep my pension plan going, and keep my health benefits etc.

I work full time on my websites and am comfortable with my income. I like the fact that when you are working on site/s you are making money and building equity in something - that one day you could turn around and sell your site/s.
Isolation can be a problem - I recently took on partners so that is less of a problem for me know. Although I may find myself working long and odd hours, the freedom is wonderful - and I also love the fact that webmasters can work from almost anywhere!

To be honest I don't think making money off Adsense (or any other internet means similar) is a stable enough job for me. For example I think in about 5/6 years Adsense and stuff like that would halt, and people who quit you job would be stuck.

    Just my idea.

I've just quitted my day job couple months ago. Earning constantly $4/K is good enough for a single life like me :)

No, I didn't leave my day job. I consider webmastering as a hobby, with a nice side-income.

I left my day job over 3 years ago, but I would have never done it just because of Adsense earnings as it would just be to risky.

After 4 plus years on my own .. I just now decided that it was to much freedom and I needed more structure. Sure I made a ton but had no time to do any thing with it.

    Tk :)
