Sites being heavily penalized by Google

I went to this topic to see if this ad-co-op thing would be a good way to get extra traffic, but after reading the posts in this tread, I have decided to stay away from it, just be sure.

Oh I understand it. In relation to you sending dozens of requests to google for them to raise your site in the SERPs. And in relation to the co-op hurting your rank.

OK, I'll try once more to make this simple enough for you to understand it.

Let's say that I go into a restaurant and they serve me a filet mignon that is disgusting and inedible. Do I keep this knowledge to myself? No. Do I ask the government to make my filet mignon edible? No.

What do I do? I share my knowledge with the people who run the restaurant, to help them improve their products and services.

You're irrational argument across multiple threads that we should not examine why rankings occur, not communicate with Google, and not attempt to improve our rankings is just moronic.

If Google cared for your suggestions, they might have replied to one of your dozens of emails.

I'm thinking of setting up the ad network on my blog. I just came by this thread and I thought I'd put my two cents in.

I'm not using the ad network right now, and some of my keywords have tanked in Google (and by tank, I mean go from #12 to 10,000+ overnight). Just because Google did some re-shuffling it doesn't mean that it was related to anything, you, I, or any of these people did.

Anyway, here's hoping that The ad network will help drive some much needed traffic to my site

 

No matter what you guys think the coop has my MFA site sitting at the top of Google & MSN for my top 5 keywords.
