Stear Clear of Submission4U Directory!

I submitted my site (which is a gambling site) to thier "gambling" section and rather than putting it in there, they bury it in Regional > North America > United States > Business and Ecomony.

I would stear clear of this directory, not only are they just putting links wherever they want in wrong categories, they are damaging the integrity of thier directory, if they even had one in the first place.

    Is your site English?

Admittedly your site should be listed in the appropriate categories.

However the submission guidelines “We have the right to edit your description and category, if needed.”

Also the first thing you should do is contact the owner before posting this.

    Thanks Brian

I just feel my site should be placed in the correct category. It's really no explanation why he put it where he did. He changed my anchor text, while every other link in that directory has keywords in them. You just can't change your mind on something like that and expect others to take your directory serious. He misspelled my sites name to boot. That's why I posted this, so no one else get's the shaft for 30 bucks. I'd probably prefer if he just beat me on the 30 bucks and not put up the link at all.

I also do not know why DP moved my post here. The forum was directory announcements. I guess you have to be schilling your own directory for it to stay, whatever...

Please always contact the directory owner before posting. It might have been a mistake that can be easily fixed. In this case, I imagine that is probably true for the category (and the title typo was accidental, I'm sure). However, with that being said, I think you should know that many directories have in their guidelines that a category, description, or title can be changed. I rewrite almost every description submitted to my directories, often tweak titles, and sometimes have to change categories if submitted incorrectly or not following guidelines so that everything is uniform. What that means is that many directories try to maintain the same writing style, title formats, etc. So, even though I (for example) certainly try to give the submitter as close to what they wanted as possible, it is very common that *something* with a listing is tweaked.

I understand what your saying and I have no problems with modifications, but to move ANY site to an unrelated category from the correct one submitted is, well I don't know, mind blowing. I wouldn't care what he did with my link, just as long as it was in a related category, which is was not. My site is a sports gambling website, I submitted to gambling. he moved it to business and ecomony. Hell, even sports and recreation would of been more related and that is the category right next to ecomony. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever...

That's the part that I think may have been a mistake. Perhaps if you contacted, it would already be sorted out now. :) I will drop a note to him, though, and he can follow up here on it or by PM to you.

    Hi,

There is a line in our submission guide.
Don't submit adult, hack, illegal, gambling, casino, poker sites.
Also we reserve the right to edit your description and category, if needed.
I think there is no problem to add your link at United States > Business.

//Edit it has been removed to Recreation and Sports category as you request.

As I replied in your email, we agree to refund your payment in 2 business days? Have you checked it?

If you still have any problems, please drop me a PM.

    Thanks

Yeah, it was a misunderstanding I guess Antonio. I didn't read the submission guide mostly because I saw the directory has not 1, but 2 gambling categories. It looks as though you changed your mind on gambling websites and on anchor text. My Fault.
