    Me too. The syntax highlighting is nice to tell you you've forgotten to close a bracket or quote or whatever.
    Auto-indent is cool too

    vi - another nice thing about vi is that you can in an emergency SSH into a server and make changes with exactly the same vi as you use at home/office. No GUI needed!
