How can I improve it?

 

not normal i think you need to do new place for you ads and change color of ads you try first and keep statistics this day got how much if you do 1 week
i think you will know how you can improve already

1. Depends on how many clicks you are actually getting.

Click value varies from niche to niche. For certain type of sites 3-4 cent clicks are normal.

2. Also if most of your visitors are repeat users, you won't get many clicks.

This is normal for forums but not for site or blog.

 

change the ads placement position.
Layout of ads must be also changed to get good ctr.

 

let the color of the ads be the same color of the background, top left side, you must have atleast one google ad

I would also say that how you are getting that traffic will matter as well. If the traffic is coming in from PPC it most likely won't convert on your site well. If the traffic is coming in just from organic search results, most likely the users are looking for your site to be the authority for what ever it is they are searching for. If the traffic is from something like Traffic Swarm, be lucky that you are getting any clicks at all. If the traffic is repeat visitors, reposition and change up the look of your ads as suggested above. The trick with all conversions is to cause the visitor to take a simple desired action once they land on your site. If they aren't taking that action, you need to be testing many different possibilities and do split testing to see what actually converts on your site.

 

I have adverts in the sidebar and get little or no clicks. It blends in with the site design aswel. Also in articles I have one underneath (above commenting). Maybe I'm doing something wrong too?

Last month I got over 25,000 visitors.

Maybe it's due to web users developing an "Advert/Banner Blindness" ?

That's rather low, but it really depends. If your site is non-English one, then CPC are much lower . . .

You might have visitors that are tricked to come to your site...

I have the same problem but I get 6500 unique visitors a day and get about $10 per day.

- 90% new visitors.
- 80% organic se traffic.
- Got told I had really great placements.
- Get roughly 2-4% ctr.

What more can you ask for?

 

i recommand you to put adsense on the header, before the articles , you'll generate a lot of money with this ad placement

 

Even with 2 paegeviews per visitor, you would get 13000 pageviews a day.

= 260 - 520 clicks.

I guess your problem is with the niche - you are in a low paying one. .

 

3k visitors and earn a few dollar is a extremely low rate. I would suggest the following:
1. Block those MFA sites
2. Expand your networth, build several more websites with different niche and advertise your new sites into the existing one.
3. Focus more on uk and us traffic

That does seem low for the number of impressions. Maybe you are doing something wrong. How is you optimzation of those ads?
