Yeah I think probably they will do it! They are Top1 Net company at these times and just look how their workers work at their main office they are actually relaxing not working :)

Well they have such a large money that they can buy every internet website( well I don't know about yahoo, but who knows)

Probably that will happen in next 2-5years that's for sure!

I know a lot of companies that want to keep control of their data, rather than it be by having servers in house or by talking to IT support who aren't half way round the other side of the world. The google tools are great and i'm an avid user of gmail but they are not for everyone.

No, I don't think so. As all things in life the is the beginning (growth) phase, maturity phase, and the death phase... Google will be no different.

The internet is only a small piece of global IT and corporate/business IT is vastly and distinctly different than consumer internet. Also, Google dominates only the search aspect of the internet. Most of corporate IT is dominated by the likes of Oracle, Microsoft, and IBM just to scratch the surface.

so the millions of businesses that use computers, servers and networks for their day to day operations will no longer need them?

if anything Microsoft has the control of IT's future, not Google.

you must not work in IT, I have worked in the IT industry for 12 years, saying that Google will take over IT makes no sense.

    Lol maan --you amaze me.:D

Have you read the article? Its not about IT (Information Technology) --its about the whole world being wired to common GIANT SERVERS.

IT is an integral part of our lives now --and will remain so. It is the way --IT industry has been working so far that will change --not IT itself.

You will NO-LONGER - need to have Mainframes in your office to manage all databases. Companies will no longer need to manage their own servers. Google will manage all the databases --and IT people like you will work online --and store the data on Google's servers --not your Company's servers.

And -- No -I have no relation with IT industry --I hardly know how to operate my PCs and surfing.

Perhaps other companies, like directory companies might get a bigger slice of the search market :)

Afterall, google is , at heart, a really big directory, with a really strong search function,

Suppose someone brought out a really great search engine script, charge $100 per copy, an , supposePC tech became so good that the average server had, say

1 terabyte RAM, 3,000 terabyte hard disk, an 100 GHz paralell processing cpu, plus we all had, 1000 MB broadband pipes,,,

Perhaps there would be 10,000 mini googles instead of 10,000 directories,

An we would all be able to index every page on the net, an

    okay,
