depends on the amount of visitors, obviously everyone wants 0%, but on a good day, Ill settle for anything below 50%.

I'm getting a really high bounce rate!

About 80% most of the time. My blog is new however.

I'll take a high bounce rate. That means, hopefully, they're clicking my adsense :p

Search engine traffic often has a bounce rate of 1 in 2. PPC should be lower.

People forget about Bounce Rate!!! Concentrate on Page Visit Duration -- search engine don't care that much for bounce rate because if you have for example all in one page content then you are going to have high bounce rate and this is not a measure for quality!

I'd say that normal time spend on page should be around 1.5 min. that's the regular time ...

But its a bit more complicated. Randy from 1strankings made some experiments on that. You can read the whole article here: http://www.seonewsblog.com/seo-prov...r-behavioral-data-as-website-ranking-criteria

    Cheers,

For most of my sites the bounce rate is between 35 and 45%. I am not worried about it. Off course it would be nice have a low % bounce rate but it all depends of the niche of your website and how much content you have on your site.

I agree with Venetsian's comment. Bounce rate is relative to content on the homepage.
