Is This A Good Technique?

Ok, I was sifting through thoughts the other day, and I
stumbled acrosst one that I thought was kind of good.
(Yes, thoughts in my own head).

I was wondering if ANYONE has tried something like this,
or something similar. Because if so, I'd like to try it out on
my fitness site, so I was wondering what the outcome was.
Make sure you answer "GREAT" or "YOU'RE AN IDIOT"
    when you've read the idea.

    Step one:

    Research a niche. Easy peasy...ish.

Build a site/blog on the niche and send traffic.
(as you can see, I am shortening the steps - no way do I
think it's easy or nothing, just... work with me)

Set up an Aweber form with a questionaire box and a name
and email box to capture questions about the niche, and
    names and emails.

Under the form - have a "Questions that have been
    answered" area.

Develop a product based on the most popular questions,
touching on other questions as well. And sell it to the newly
    acquired list.

What are your guys's thoughts on it? BE HONEST!

Sounds like a smart plan to me, especially to develop a product with your customer specifically in mind. Other marketers have used similar ways to develop products for a specific target market. I'd say go for it and see what happens.

Sounds like a plan indeed, been doing this on a blog of mine, not about the selling but about the using information to improve or get something to the people who are interested in it!

    Edit: GREAT! haha

I'd have to say GREAT for this technique. You definitely shortened the process and made it basic, but this is fundamentally a great idea. Getting a list of interested subscribers is crucial for anyone who wants to succeed in internet marketing. However creating the product of course is easier said than done.

Not necessarily. There are subjects that I'm passionate about that I could fill several books with. The only question is...would enough people buy that information to make it profitable.

If you're passionate about the subject, it will show in your writing, and people will notice.

As for what he's laid out, he can use those questions the list members give him to create his basic outline and then go from there. It's probably one of the best ways to create a product that has a better than average chance for success.

    The rest is just marketing.

Sounds rad.. when you try and research on what people really want and basing it from that. Coz Sometimes we tend to overlook things, we think of somehting really big and grand when what everyone needs is just something in between.

I had some troubles understanding you plan, but keep in mind decent PPC traffic is going to cost about $.5 a click with maybe a 20% conversion (I consider this to be very high). In short, are you willing / able to spend $2.50 per answer? How will you track demographics?

The idea looks good enough to me. People come in search of what they might be looking for. But I'm sure other sites will have similar FAQ sections on their sites also. But yes, you can suceed if you have your own subscriber list, which takes time to build.

Sounds very good as a plan, but it won't be so easy, I think :).

sounds like a great way to test a market before you even bother to invest the time and effort into product development

    Howdy,

Definitely sounds like a good idea. We are all taught to sell people whatthey want to buy. What better place to learn what customer want then from your own list?

    Much success,

Congrats you understand how to build a list. Now make that idea a reality and you will be in profits in no time.
