    I have a site about watercolour painting. How can I stop AdSense supplying ads for 'painters and decorators' which are irrelevant?

    They might be only ads they have similar to your site right now.

    You can also work on keywords of your site to get better ads. Search forum for google ignore for keywords. Use code around any word you do not want ads for.

    It would be nice if AdSense had a negative keywords feature like the one in AdWords.

    You can try putting more keywords related to watercolor painting on your page.

    I'm having the same problem with on my website, the ads are completely irrelevant.

    I would think one reason is that are not many advertisers for that keyword so google uses the most relevant ads.

    Use the words "art" and "artwork" rather than "painting". And take the "u" out of "watercolour". You'll get more ads with "watercolor".

    Are you sure that AdSense is displaying wrong ads in all geographic locations ? Try putting your URL in the AdSense Sandbox and pick a country different from your own - Do you still see "wrong" ads ?

    You can use these commands to tell google which content to use for displaying ads.

    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->

    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    For example, if you want ads related to keyword 1, keyword 2, keyword 3 and so on then use these commands like this

    if you have some content like this

    xxxxxxxxxxxxx keyword 1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxkeywrod 2 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.....

    then use the commands

    <!-- google_ad_section_start -->
    xxxxxxxxxxxxx keyword 1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxkeywrod 2 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.....
    <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    Put the relevant content whcih you want google to use for displaying ads between these commands
