Best Way to Get Top Rankings in Google

To be honest I am experimenting with a few methods. One that has recently proved to be effective is a wordpress theme design, this is one I intend to pursue heavily. It is not the one I mentioned above, however this is a branch of that methodology.

copyblogger.com is a heavy site that has links with the likes of Seth Godin and in high in technorati, they recently created a superfly theme that was 2 column and heavily optimised for SEO. All we did was convert it to a 3 column theme and add our credential to the footer, now according to creative commons licence we have to give credits to the original owner and add ours. The co-author and lead developer of our blog purposely put oscandy.com in the theme and not our main keyword (he wants to raise the profile of the brand), but it could very well easily work with your main keyword. There were no costs at all tied into this. The linkbacks are growing very strongly especially from PR6-PR 7 sites, the interesting thing of course is that the links will appear for all pages
i would definitely recommend this as part of the SEO tactics one uses. Find a Wordpress designer in a developing country, go out and look at the top blogs that focus on copywriting, seo, internet marketing, etc and offer to modify, enhance and improve their current theme. The categories are important because visitors to these type of blogs are usually fellow webmasters and those who want to improve the ranking of their blog in their niche.
Now you would convert the blog into a 2 and 3 column and heavy SEO orientation, the objective is to promote the theme in light of the benefit it will have for a blog in regards to SEO, a sure seller.

Check out the post on here about copyblogger theme and ours is the 3 column theme that is distributed and used on our blog oscandy.com. The condition of course will be a blog post dedicated to the theme and the benefits related to SEO, etc, which I do not doubt that they would refuse in exchange. Once people are using the theme you will see some heavy backlinks coming your way. In 6 months our blog has 30,000 visitors per month which equates to 60,000+ page views per month; average user spends 4mins+ per visit which indicates that they are reading the material which consists of 450 - 1000 words. In the top 30,000 for technorati and each keyword promoted hits page 4 in google. Target of course is top 10 for least competitive keywords and top 30 for competitive keywords across the broad spectrum of topics that get covered. Of course the main targeted keyword 'joomla' we are hitting at 42 in Google to date, but to be honest we have not put in to practice what we preach about backlinks with articles otherwise I am pretty sure we would hit top 10 on Google.

It may seen like a lot of work or something, but the fruits of this labour will endure much longer as you will be tied into with a lot of authority sites who are here to stay.

anchor text is the text you see for a link if you look below this message you will see Previous Thread and Next Thread are links the words Previous Thread and Next Thread is the anchor text. If you look at you signature you have Small Business Credit
cards as anchor text.

Yeah, link building is a factor to consider. How do you find SMO useful?

 

The method I found most effective is getting a free page on blogger.com, squidoo.com, and other sites with high PR, then add some quality content, and then link it to your site using your desired keywords.

Buy sitewide text links on websites or maybe only the homepage. Just posting your links won't help as such pages don't have very high pr. Also, releasing ur theme is a great way as said above. My friends do it.

Don't pay for any links directly, as many people here are advising. You will get banned in a hurry. If you pay someone to put your link on their site, you're can get in trouble. You can pay someone to "get" the links for you, but not someone to display your link on their site.
