Does having links on different sites with the same IP count as 1 site? WIll it have any negative effect on SEO?

Search Engines often discount links from the same IP C-block (AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD). You don't need to worry about negative effects unless you are excessive or deceptive.

If I am running say 10 sites on the same IP, Some of which rank for the same terms, Will this have a negative effect? I seem to have lost 90% of my google rankings today and im trying to figure out why.

I don't think they would consider 10 sites as excessive though.

There shouldn’t be any negative effects, however you should make sure that you are linking to site that match the theme of your site i.e. don’t link to each and every site you own, only link those sites which match each others themes.

If you have lots of links that are natural and from sites you don't own then you will be fine.

If you are relying on links from your own network then Google might discount these links.
