Hi Just wanted to know about your views of accepting some submissions. Especially when you are giving the opportunity to submit deep links with "Deep Link Mod", will you accept such submissions as "main URL" 1) Pages at Squidoo.com (squidoo Lense) 2) Pages at googlepages.com I believe not many people really bother to read submission guidelines. Even if they do, they don't really get them properly. I think "sometimes" submitters are just confused to get what exactly a directory is offering and they try to submit anything they can. Your Comments: Thanks Fastian
It really depends...I would accept these pages/subdomain if the content is good and relevant..Also its not another MFA.. It also depends on the description written while submitting..
Same as the above poster, i would consider allowing them but it would depend on the quality. I would also be more likely to accept if it was a paid listing rather than free as it shows that the owner of the "free page" is serious.
Yes I do understand that "Content is the King" and no its not any MFA kinda site. Infect it's a "SEO and Link building Service" provider web page with info related to his services. The point was, I have clearly stated in my guidelines but I keep getting such submissions. (I have refunded most of them) I don't mind accepting them either but I don't want to have lots of subdomains to the same site as different listings. (What if I start getting lots of submissions from wordpress.com) So I just wanted to see what you guys do in such situation.
I have similiar views. Today some-one submitted a site in my PR 6 directory and left without paying. I checked the site and I liked its content. So I listed it --but banned the IP -that goes with 85.XXX.XX.XX . It seems its a Russian IP . http://www.communicationtube.net/ My point is --if I think the site has good content that is useful for surfers than I have no problem in listing it whatever the URL is.
You should specifically make it clear that you want them to submit deeplinks form the same domain.. I personally would not approve deeplink to pages on another domain
Im not sure what Squidoo is to be honest and haven't had a submission of one yet. Neither will i accept googlepages.
If they are quality sites with good content - yes.. For e.g. There are many great blogspot blogs with good content.. Let them do promotion
I will accept decent blogspot blogs, i have them myself, maybe im making a mistake when im rejecting certain pages because their from a free service, my own ignorance i admit, but i find it impossible to keep up with every little free service and know what they are. I still cant get my head around this stating in guidelines that they dont accept child pornography, i find it hard to believe that many people running those sites would be looking to get a backlink from a general directory. Its like stating "No golden shower type sites" why the specifics?
