    Hey there,

I have a metal forums site currently getting 500 uniques a day, and rising very rapidly especially after its indexed pages has gone to over 12k.

What im having trouble with is getting profit out of these visitors?? I have placed adsense throughout the site and i will only get 1 click every few days???

I do not understand how 500 ppl a day can just ignore the ads??

anyhow, what would you guys suggest?? anyone know of any music cd affiliates known to give good %???

    Cheers.

Ozband I took a look at your site, and one thing stood out immediately. I noticed that while the google ad has red description text, the rest of the site is mostly yellow and white.

You don't want your visitors to know it is an ad. If I were you I'd change that description text from red to yellow. Then it perfectly blends in with the text on the page. That alone should get you some clicks.

I would also place a graphic close to the google ads. Your visitors eyes will look at the graphic, and they will be forced to see the ads.

my tip: As your users are not spending money right now (clicking ads, buying aff. stuff), try to sell some text links in the "Music" or "Entertainment" categories.

I would think you would max out around $50-75 range right now. You just plain need more traffic and regular visitors. For me, I immediately don't want to hang out on your site because of the light text on the black background. I'm not aware of any major successful forums using this color scheme (but you might find a couple).

It is a darker site as it is for its targetr audience. (Metal Heads... Heavy metal dungeon dudes.. get my drift)...

That is specifically what they wanted, and thats what i designed. And that comes b4 making money if you ask me. :)

@ Frankm.. I have a few text link sales. But due to its lowish PR3, i cant really find many advertisers. With 12k indexed pages you would think so.

The only benefit i can get out of these forums are the co-op weight. Between the two in my sig i have 30k :) But since they both not doing so well in G, it is hard to use it.

I agree the dark background is probably appealing for metal fans but very hard to read. I did not see your content and ads close to each other and your colours didn't match at all. Your asking people to work to find and click the ads. People will do the minimum amount of work possible so make it very easy for them.

Try to use an affiliate system and promote other products.
This one is good, easy to use and ready to use in less than 1 minute :
    http://www.super-tell-a-friend.com/affiliates.html

Also, the product is very good and you will have great chances to sell it.

    Good luck!

Did you try with the biggest squares yet? They can really do magic stuff when placed at the central spots on your web page :)

If i were you.. i wouldnt spread myself thin and just do adsense..

Why not do programs like adrbite ? Or perhaps sellin some No-follow links on your site?

(its important that you sell no-follow links, because google does not allow you to sell do-follow links that may effect PAGE RANK.

Get creative and things will work out. Always stay postive and always do what your doin not for money , but because you have a passion for what your doin.

If money is your motive, it usually doesnt last.

You could try Commission Junction affiliate program, they have a bunch of online music stores and things like napster on there. I've heard amazon affiliate give 10% on CD and song sales, never tried them for myself though.

500 visits from what source? Search engine? or through social networking? People who come from search engines have higher chance of clicking ads than social networks.
