    I have come across the following codes while I am checking my backlinks:

    <a href="http://www.mysite.com" target="VU">My Site</a>
    Code (markup):
    I would like to know what is that target="VU" means... does it means nofollow?

    No problem with this for bot, target is just to tell, where the link will be opened.

    The target attribute specifies which frame or window the link should be opened in, and its value does not effect search engines in any way.

    google will follow that link. google follows href= tags in your link. i think google will ignore target tags in your urls
