It's best to market a site effectively and efficiently. A little bit more info would indeed be handy.
Best way to market a new site is to find your target audience in it's largest numbers and then having a way to contact each and every one of them as effectively as possible.
My favorite way to pull traffic to a new website is writing and submitting articles and submitting press releases to all the free press release sites. Good luck, Bonnie
Depends on what your website is and how much is your budget. If it is an affiliate site, I say PPC first and then article marketing. If it is a niche adsense site with just some content, submit the content in the form of articles to article directories.
Put your address in the newspaper and mail out postcards. Actually there are a lot of things to do: *Forums (including adding address to signature), most importantly related to your content *Directories (free and paid) *Create original content *Write articles and add them to ezine distribution sites (with your link at bottom) *Create some buzz by giving away free stuff or having original concepts *Paid advertising *Buy domains (preferably with some PR already) and link to your main sites
If I had a new website I would market the website using paid media like (solo ads, banner ads, text ads, ppc etc) You can use free methods also but it will take sometime to see some real results.
