How Directory Owners Goes with the Promotion of new Directory

I wanted to create a thread on topic "How to proceed while starting promotion of your new directory" because of hectic work load i could not do. Got some time today

I mean how to go with buying links for New Directory.

First set your budget for your first 3 months

Select sites you are going to submit established sites best with minimum PR4 (or sites that are new and you know the owner will have a marketing & support program)
Phase the submission for review so if you select
Example 90 sites that is 1 per day
If 900 sites that is 10 per day
etc etc
Hold back 10% to 20% of your budget so if you see special offers on forums etc where you can submit for reviews on special offers
There are quality sites both free and paid but most will be paid reviews
Make sure your Review submittal program is continuous
Post on forums etc about your Directory get your name known

Ask a friendly directory owner to write an article about your Directory

Work hard continuously and make sure you keep your reviews to no MFA, No QBC type reviews

Start your Review rates at affordable rates for the age and credibility of the site, as you get known you can increase the rates accordingly

Back up your submission program with:-

Your own Marketing & Support Program

Good program mate, i am doing all same as u mention in ur post. But i have heared not to go for too many links

As there are 30K links already for einternetindex.com, so i am little confused what to do now should i have to buy more ? Budget is not a problem

Also i have been submitting to top directories at present and looking for some pr8 links

any thing more ??

 

I can see einternetindex is promoted heavily.. Nice number of backlinks..

Now you can get some visible ads - i mean banner ads on webmaster related sites, Avatar or signatures ( like what dreamdirectory did few months back ).

But you must wait for the PR update

 

I will make a quote :

Create a directory

Announce about it in DP (We SEO professionals used to get directory list from DP)

Do as many directory submission as you can (hire someone)

Buy some +PR7 links

Do the work for three months and after that get the money return !!!

I would enable the <meta name="description" content="”> our you could have problems with supplemental results..

 

101% agreed.. Set unique descriptions for each top level category in your directory from your admin panel.

 

thanks for getting that in my notice i will soon update the description of top level categories.
