(Hope this is right place, business was the best I could find) Hi, This is my next phase in launching my latest site that I believe will be very successful in the field of SEO. A real SEO FAQ. This is how I wrote the script (a rented coder followed my instructions): Anyone can read, answer or post questions related to SEO. All data goes in the db with an admin panel where I approve/disapprove it. Each answer entry has "Answer provided by: Company name" with a live, permanent static link. I have already bought some links and set some up some on my own pages and forecast it to be PR 4 on the next update. So the cooperation is (for SEO skilled members): You pick a question (about 30 to be answered) and write some real good unique content to answer that question and you get the link and name/company name under your answer. Now the win-win in this is that you provide a few paragraphs of unique content and thousands of readers will read it and possible/hopefully also visit your site. Note that I said thousands. I expect around 2000 visitors from webmasters already interested in SEO in a period of the first 2 weeks. This as when the site launches it will be featured in my newsletter that goes to 2K webmasters (last mailing 90% visited the site) and also be announced in forums I am part of as well as my own sites. And from there on I have no idea how far it will go. As the site is very dynamic for the visitor (they submit questions and they get answered by pros) I expect a relatively high bookmark ratio/returning visitors. Then on the PR update and the site turns into the predicted PR 4 it will work as an incentive for webmasters to answer the unanswered SEO questions and get a link. The point here is that the top questions and their future answers are listed at the top, so the best is to have your text and link at the top and get the most readers - right? Well this is your chance. The text and link will then stay there for YEARS ... In regards to the other offer I offer a recommendation for an SEO company in the place of "Joes SEO company" at the top of the site right under the intro text. This is an auction for that spot (1 month). Starting bid 5$. Auction ending 5 days after this post. BIN: 50$. Any general feedback is also welcome. URL of site: http://www.SEOFAQ.net PS: There may still be some undetected bugs/typos. If you see any I would appreciate in letting me know. Thank you.
Thanks a lot Aaron. I am looking forward for more answers in the FAQ. There are two minor bugs to be handled: specifications of the sequence of the answers and oppurtunity to edit them. I will get my coder onto that ASAP. And also about the auction, noone interested? The link is there for 4 weeks and I estimate 3K webmasters visting the site in that time. If 10% visits it is 300 visitors and those probably have very high conversion ratio as they come to your site to get help with SEO. Today and last night I bought 15 more links with PR pointing to the site. I want to get it to PR 5 in the update.
I really like this idea. I like the added "proven and confirmed" and "Believed but not fully confirmed" at the bottom of the FAQ entries. It's a nice resource and I'm sure it will come in handy.
Its the best system I have seen (I gotta get over there and answer some). My only suggestion is to fix the grammar on the questions. I realize they are user submitted but some aren't clear Cheers
Thanks for the comments! I also believe it will be very nice. I hope it will go to PR 5 in the update and rise some more interest from SEOs. :feel shamed: I wrote them (need to get my English better). If you sent me a PM with the corrections I would be more than happy (there is a 30 char limit). -- Looking forward for your answers! So far only me and aaron_nimocks from DP has submitted - get a lifetime link for only maybe 10 minutes of your time. Be part of the history before the questions are all answered. Thank you.
I answered one....I think you really have something unique there (I know I have said it a million times) I will try to answer a few more when I have time Cheers
You may want to add a Preview before submission I wasn't sure if I divided the paragraphs enough etc Cheers
Yes, good point. Will get my programmer onto it as it is coded in smarty which I haven't learned yet but should't be too hard to do.
Love the idea. Just thought i'd join in and answer a question. Might do a few others aswell in a while.
Excellent work. Could do with a form of navigation though. I'm sure those Q's can be grouped into categories under a common header so finding what you need is easier. One dirty long dropdown isn't what I call a user friendly GUI. Whether or not HTML is allowed in the answers could be a bit more clear as well. User ratings besides admin moderation could be useful too.
Thanks for the feedback, TOPS you have some valid points I will run it as-is for a while and collect different feedback/viewpoints on it and then work out the changes to be made. For example I am not sure about breaking it into different subpages as I liked the way you could read it from top to bottom as a tutorial. I want it unique - there are plenty of others in which you go to subpages and read articles etc. I want this to be something special. I didn't even know about HTML in the answers - I will look this over. And user ratings could be something but I don't want it too complex.
Quick update! More than half of the questions have been answered and I intend to release it within a week. It already started to get a few hits from SEs and I am a bit proud to announce the rankings: KW: SEO FAQ Google: #1 out of 4,130,000 Yahoo: #5 out of 9,530,000 MSN: #2 out of 364,702 For you who want to be part of the history, make sure to answer a question before they are all answered! But just make sure it is high quality stuff.
Hi JW, I have just finished answering two of your unanswered questions. The links one took a good amount of brain stroming ... hope they get accepted
