Using the same logic that allowed that guy to rank in the first 5 spots for [5 seo excuses] last year, Ask.com manipulates Google's serps to get the maximum benefit from their latest advertising campaign: http://smackdown.blogsblogsblogs.com/2007/06/11/askcom-games-google-and-wins/ Smart thinking if you ask me. I mean, you have to make sure you have enough money for a national advertising campaign to really make the most of it, so obviously not the tactic for everybody, but if you got the bucks then it's a nice approach. Rank for some easy to achieve phrase, then get the whole nation to search for it. -Michael
Heh! Now if Ask could just convince it's customers that being #1 on Google for that actually made them smarter than Google! Does anyone else here actually use Ask for searching? Or has anyone checked out Ask since the redesign? Does anyone remember when it was AskJeeves...? -Michael
